Salzburger Festspiele

The Game of the Mighty is the motto of the Salzburg Festival’s 2009 program. Many operas, plays and concerts focus on this topic. Handel, Rossini, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn – and the Italian composer Luigi Nono – dominate the 2009 opera season. The concert program spotlights Joseph Haydn and Franz Liszt, Ludwig van Beethoven and Edgard Varèse.
